The Caribbean Region can be taken to mean all the countries in and around the Caribbean Sea that lies within an area that stretches from Grand Bahama Island in the north to Curaçao in the south, and French Guiana in the east to Belize in the west.
The Independent Countries found in the Caribbean region are -
Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas ,Barbados ,Belize,Costa Rica,Colombia .Cuba.Dominica .Dominican Republic,Grenada, Guatemala,Guyana ,Haiti,Honduras ,Jamaica,Nicaragua ,Panama ,Saint Kitts and Nevis ,Saint Lucia
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines ,Suriname ,Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela.

Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Montserrat, Puerto Rico and Martinique to name a few.
CARICOM stands for Caribbean Community and Common Market and is defined as an organization made up of 15 Caribbean nations to promote economic integration ( oneness) among members. Caricom was formed to help improvestandards of living and work, employment,economic development, trade and and productivity.
The 15 Caricom nations are

The blue represents the sky and the lower part of the dark blue represents the Caribbean Sea. The yellow circle in the centre represents the sun on which is printed in black, the logo of the Caribbean Community - two interlocking c's. The two c's are in the form of broken links in a chain, symbolising unity. The narrow ring of green around the sun represents the vegetation of the Region. |
